QR Vault — Privacy Policy

QR Vault requests camera access solely to scan QR codes. Camera frames are processed entirely on your device using on-device barcode detection — they are never recorded, stored, or transmitted anywhere. You can revoke camera access at any time in your device’s app settings; the app’s QR code creation tools and gallery-image scanning still work without it.

Every QR code you scan is checked for safety and saved to a local history on your device so you can find it again later. This history — including the scanned content, safety verdict, and timestamps — is stored only on your device. It is never uploaded to us or any third party. You can delete individual entries or clear your entire history at any time from within the app; uninstalling the app permanently deletes this data.

QR codes you generate in the app (URLs, text, Wi-Fi credentials, contact cards) are created and stored locally on your device. We do not see or collect the content you encode.

We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (both provided by Google) to understand app usage patterns and diagnose crashes. This may include anonymized event data (e.g., which features are used), device information, and crash logs. This data is used only to improve app stability and features — it is not linked to the content of your scans or generated codes, and is not sold.

QR Vault shows ads, served through Google AdMob, to support free use of the app. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as the advertising ID) and usage data to serve and measure ads, subject to Google’s own privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy). Where required by law (e.g., in the EU/UK), you’ll be asked for consent to personalized advertising via a standard consent prompt before any ads are shown. You can manage your ad personalization settings in your device’s Google settings at any time.

Safety checks, scanning, and QR code creation are always free and are never limited or gated by ads.

QR Vault offers an optional one-time or yearly Pro upgrade (removes ads, unlocks premium styles), processed entirely through Google Play Billing. We do not see or store your payment details — these are handled directly by Google under Google Play’s own terms and privacy policy.

We do not require account creation or login. We do not access your contacts, files, or other apps. Scanned and generated QR content never leaves your device except as described above for anonymized analytics/crash data.

QR Vault is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
