Is this QR code safe? Check before you open it
Scammers stick their own codes over real ones on menus, parking meters and shop counters. The Scan & check tab reads the pattern in the address and flags what it finds — this is a heuristic, not a verdict from a safety service.
Lookalike domains
Letters swapped to imitate a real site, like "rn" for "m" or a zero for an "o".
rnybank.com → not mybank.com
Hidden destinations
Short links that hide where you will really end up until you open them.
bit.ly/3xQ… → destination hidden
Insecure connections
A link with no encryption, so anything you type on the page can be read in transit.
http://… → not encrypted
QR code questions, answered
How do I make a QR code for Wi-Fi?
Choose Wi-Fi in the Create tab, type your network name and password, and pick the security type. Download the code and print it. Guests point their camera at it to join without typing the password.
How can I tell if a QR code is safe?
Open the Scan & check tab and drop in a photo or screenshot of the code, or use your camera. The tool shows where the link really goes and flags lookalike domains, hidden redirects and insecure links before you open anything.
Can I scan a QR code from a screenshot or image?
Yes. Drag the image into the Scan & check tab, choose it from your files, or paste a screenshot with Ctrl+V. The code is read in your browser.
Is it free?
Yes. The web tools are free to use with no sign-up.
Do you upload my codes or images?
No. Codes are created and images are read inside your browser. Nothing you type or scan is sent to a server.
Do these QR codes expire?
No. These are static codes: the content lives inside the code itself, so they keep working as long as the link or details inside them do.
What is the difference between static and dynamic QR codes?
A static code stores the link or details inside the code itself, so it never expires and needs no account, but the content can't be changed after printing. A dynamic code points to a short link you can edit later, but it stops working if that service or subscription ends. This tool makes static codes; to update one, use Fix a code and print the new version.
Can I use the codes for my business?
Yes. Codes you make are yours, with no watermark, for print or digital use.
